Three Dragons has released a new version of the Three Dragons Commuted Sums Calculator

The Three Dragons Commuted Sums Calculator enables local authorities to collect much needed contributions towards affordable housing in their area. Fareham Borough Council are the latest council to start using the new version of the Commuted Sums Calculator.

Fareham Borough Council were most interested in being able to collect commuted sums where there was not enough for a whole affordable housing unit to be provided on site. The Commuted Sums Calculator is a simple and consistent tool that enables the user to work out the value of those parts of units (or whole units if onsite provision is not practicable) so a cash contribution can be made.  

The Commuted Sum Calculator can be tailored for each local authority to consider the full range of different affordable housing tenures and local values.  The calculator is simple to use and can be easily updated with site specific values or site mixes so that it provides long term usability.
